As a psychologist for immigrants and expats, another group I frequently take care are entrepreneurs or women aspiring to start their own businesses. The most common complaints these clients bring to sessions are:

  • The difficulty of pricing your products/services despite mastering the techniques to do so.

  • Fear or embarrassment of selling your products/services, even after acquiring technical knowledge.

  • Difficulty dealing with negative responses from potential customers when considering a sales opportunity.

  • The shame of exposing yourself on social media;

  • Extreme fear of failure in business;

  • Not time balance between business and private life (in the case of women, which often involves children, household chores, romantic partner, self-care);

  • Anxiety about dealing with bureaucracy in the country where they live;

  • Difficulties in communicating in a foreign language during all activities involving entrepreneurship (selling, communicating with suppliers, government, institutions, business partners, giving a presentation at events, etc.);

  • The feeling of doing something wrong because you have become or want to be an entrepreneur, given that in your family of origin, no one has ever been an entrepreneur, and those who have tried, have failed.

These fears or difficulties paralyze them or make them procrastinate, hindering the development of their existing business or its opening.

How do I address these issues with my clients who are talented in entrepreneurship or who are already entrepreneurs but face the challenges mentioned above on a daily basis?

By accessing your wounded inner child, we seek to uncover what negative memories or childhood traumas are holding you back. At the same time, we determine what the real risks of a new business are and what is your wounded child's fantasy. At the same time, we strengthen your inner adult so you can deal with the difficulties and risks inherent in entrepreneurship—knowing how to face reality and act on it.

Problems won't magically disappear, as dealing with the business world involves dealing with different situations, people, and institutions: customers, suppliers, the government, social media, etc. But with my help as your psychologist, you, as an entrepreneur, will learn how to solve them and suffer less from any negative impacts that may arise. Furthermore, you'll learn to weigh situations, rationally evaluating what is real and possible to resolve. Ultimately, you'll have greater peace and a sense of ease as an entrepreneur.

This way, during our sessions, according to your reality, you will learn:

  • Firstly, manage the feeling of unworthiness that involves pricing and offering your products/services, that is, selling your products/services and, as the sessions progress, drastically reduce your fears in this regard.

  • To have more confidence in prospering;

  • Better manage your time between your private and professional life;

  • Managing and controlling your anxiety regarding the challenges of entrepreneurship;

  • Recognizing what is fantasy and what is reality in the life of an entrepreneur.

  • Eliminate negative thoughts and take a stand.

  • Controlling shame on social media and drastically reducing it over time.

Through a set number of sessions, which will be determined based on an intake with you, we will work together through practical, experiential exercises that you will use in your daily life as an entrepreneur. This way, you will be able to feel lighter, happier, and more self-aware of your attitudes, and you will know how to deal with emotional challenges as an entrepreneur.

If you, who are reading this post, are going through any of the entrepreneurship challenges I mentioned here, send a message and schedule an intake.

Let's work together to help your business flourish through a healthier, more efficient and lighter life as an entrepreneur!!
