Hello, welcome! In this article, I'll talk about what the sessions are like and the initial results you might notice from them.

After we have an initial conversation to assess together whether I can help you and whether there is a connection between us that allows you to achieve your goals through the sessions, we schedule the first session.

In this first session, we'll clarify for me, and especially for you, what your true goal is. Often, clients come in with a question that, by the end of this first session, becomes clear that the real problem has nothing to do with what was discussed at the beginning of our conversation. Don't be alarmed; this is common! Most of the time, we have myths and beliefs that prevent us from understanding what's really happening in our lives.

In addition to identifying the real problem, I'll also gather important information about your life. Also in this session, we'll do some practical exercises. These exercises are experiences that allow you to get in touch with what you think you know about yourself and what you're hiding from yourself to avoid solving your problem. Think about it: if you already knew how to solve what's bothering you, you wouldn't be seeking help, right?

During the next sessions, we'll identify where this identified problem appears in your reality, what happens when it appears, what feelings you have, and what you do to deal with them. Your problem certainly appears in different forms, so it's important to express it. For each session, a situation will be worked on, seeking to reveal how you actively participate in the problem, and I'll tell you how you can stop repeating or activating the problem . During the sessions, you'll have the opportunity to put into practice what I suggest you do when dealing with your complaint, this way you'll be more confident in repeating it when you're alone.

Tools : The sessions consist of questions that use the rational mind and body perception. Thus, in each session, you will discover what paralyzes you, causes you fear, joy, and sadness—the body part—and what lies behind your way of thinking and responding rationally to your problem—the mind part. There will also be practical exercises based on the analytical (Inner Child and Inner Adult) and systemic (systemic philosophy) approaches. These practical exercises are practices/exercises/activities that are already part of your daily life, so you won't spend extra time doing them. For example, if you feel very anxious about public speaking, and you are in a session to work on this, then the exercises I recommend will be for you to do when you need to speak in public.

The first results already begin to appear in the fourth session (knowing that this happens when you perform the practical exercises with focus during the week, observe yourself, identify what is happening to you and report it during the session - that is why your commitment to your improvement is essential: you use the exercises and can already minimally control anxiety/fear, reduce negative thoughts and control invasive feelings, for example. It is also part of the first results, when you begin to realize on your own what you are doing for this problem to exist.

Some clients are unable to achieve their first results right from the start due to self-sabotage processes: they do not do the practical exercises with a focus on what was requested, they do not fully open themselves to what is proposed during the sessions. In these cases, the first step is to work on truly committing to their own development.

In the remaining sessions , your self-awareness grows even more: you realize that you still can't completely eliminate what's troubling you, but you're aware that you already know where that fear and insecurity are coming from, giving you a sense of empowerment. Furthermore, with the practical exercises you learn, you can already alleviate your symptoms and gain more control over your life. With the work still ongoing, you can identify in the sessions where you still need to work, where you can already manage, and what is still too painful to face.

Every 10 sessions , we make a joint assessment of how the sessions are impacting your life, whether there have been changes, what still needs to be worked on, etc.

Many clients bring more than one issue to work on in sessions. So once one is resolved, we move on to the next. Often, all issues are connected to a central issue, so here we seek to delve deeper and, therefore, spend more time.

Based on my experience with over 30 clients in different parts of the world ( see some testimonials here ), I've noticed that, depending on the frequency of treatment , clients spend around 6 months (weekly treatment) or 12 months (twice-monthly treatment) to achieve their goal/solve their core problem . In other words, they feel that this problem no longer torments them, that they can live without limitations, and that there has been a clear change in their behavior, feelings, and way of approaching life related to the problem/complaint that was resolved. Furthermore, people tell you that they've noticed your change. (Remember that for many people this change won't be pleasant, so my point here is that they will notice the changes, but they may not be pleasant for them.)

Therefore, if you want to resolve another complaint, that is, if you want to continue the process, it will probably take around 3 months (weekly service) or 6 months (twice-monthly service).

It is important to emphasize again that it will also depend on the client's commitment to doing the practical exercises with focus as well as bringing their difficulties (session material) to be discussed and worked on during the sessions.

The result of the therapeutic process is 60% of the client and 40% of the therapist, since it depends on the client really wanting to change, as it is he who needs to go to therapy, set aside time in his schedule, carry out practical exercises as well as observe himself in his daily life, face the discomforts.

I must say that some clients will not follow these timelines for the duration of follow-up to improve their quality of life. Therefore, the most important thing is that the client achieves their goals in their own time. The above predictions are based on my experience and are not "straitjackets."

If you identify with my way of working and realize that with me, you will have more strength to change and achieve your dreams and/or resolve your problems and complaints, click here and schedule a conversation.
